PARED – the washing place
“Where would you water your animal if you didn’t have a tap at home?”
Beneath the canopy lies a spring, accompanied by a large trough that was used for watering livestock, washing, and irrigation. The name Pared originates from the Istro-Venetian word for wall and serves as a reminder of the time when the village was enclosed by defensive walls. Look for traces of the old village boundary.
