IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE ŠAVRINKE

The parish house

“In Krkavče, the priest goes to bed-by walking downstairs.”

Built in 1748, the rectory has an unusual layout: the sleeping quarters are located below the living area. The priest Dominik Pegan used to joke that only in Krkavče did he have to go down the stairs to get to his bedroom, and up the stairs to reach the sacristy. This spot also holds the history of Glagolitic script and Old Church Slavonic.
